This is a mashup/remix of Imperative Reaction's song Scorpio (from Eulogy for the Sick Child) and Mentallo & the Fixer's instrumental track Battered States of Euphoria (Acoustical mix by Mainestha). I have been trying to mix these two songs together for something like 8 years now. I need to edit it again in Audition, but I'm proud that I finally did it. Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

I redid this mix which was originally posted on March 6th, fixing the latency and level problems from the first posting. With this mix, I kept it at 120 bpm the whole time. Normally, I build from just under 130 to about 140 and above. This time I wanted to move out of my comfort zone, so it was interesting to build up the progression in other ways than just the bpms. Keeping the pace the same also made the transitions a lot smoother, and I got to focus on balancing the EQs more than I have in the past. I picked up some technique in that regard I'll be expand on in the future. This will probably be that last mix I do before I move over to only spinning off my laptop. It'll be interesting to see the differences once I have a midi-controller and a dedicated DJing sound card.

I've been working on two other mixes recently, and needed an outlet for some of new stuff I've been listening to, which lately has been mixes from DJ Led Manville, Infused Radio, and DJ RIB. In other words, I've had a whole bunch of ideas and inspirations, which is where this mix came from. I pulled it together in the matter of about 6 hours start to finish (including uploading time.) It's not perfect and polished. It has its flaws. However, my transitions have gotten a whole great deal smoother from lots of recent practice on the EQ knobs. I'll either redo this at some point in the future, or scrap it, then cannibalize the mix for material in other futures ones.

Oh! I also used my first two paid for digital download on this one: the Celldweller RIB remix and the LastraX cover of Camouflage's Love is a Shield.

I finished my new edit of a mix I've been working on for at least 8 months now. Like I said previously when I posted an earlier version, I was trying to do something a little different with this one by blending electro and very fast EBM together. I took great inspiration from DJ RIB of Razed in Black on this one, who blends industrial with trance.

In honor of my first gig at Disintegration in Denver, here's a hack job remix I did of Love Will Tear Us Apart, being covered by the Swans.

This is a mix I did back in December of 2006 as a promo handout for the club I was working with, HeXxt. I was also attempting to prove that I can, in fact spin angrier music than usual futurepop/synth mixture. It's a little rough here and there, but it was a very good concept mix. See if you can spot the story that runs through the songs.

The narrative starts out with a sample from the Witches of Eastwick with ambient music by Die Sektor. Next, is Poland's Controlled Collapse covering Love Breeds Suicide, followed by Converter's previous industrial incarnation, Pain Station. Third on the tracks is Sector 9's Parallel Project (a very cool EBM project of various guest vocalists in the vein of Delerium). Next is Aesthetic Perfection, then Mexico's Hocico. Following that is Lights of Euphoria collaborating with God Module. The seventh track comes from the 2001 Klinik boxset, End of the Line. I highly recommend getting it because of the first disc of remixes by many well known industrial and powernoise bands of old Klinik classics. Rounding toward the end is Grendel's Aspiration Feed, a b-side from their popular Soilbleed EP. No. 9 is God Module, tranced out by the boys from Sector 9 Studios. Tenth is Rotersand, one of my favorite ESL bands (ie english is my second language). Next to last is an oldie from Project Pitchfork remixed by the boys from VNV. FOUND OUT WHAT KNOBS DO! BASS LINE SOLO! The mix finishes out with my favorite single of 2002, Ivory Frequency's Today is the Day. I say single because the album was a big disappointment, especially the album cut of this song.
